Day Camp at Camp Tipton is a great way for your team to connect with children and share their faith.  Our program is designed to present the Gospel in a fashion that can be understood by children ranging from K thru 6th grade.   Each week we have an exciting and fun filled theme such as Tinker Time, Music Madness, or Creation Commotion; nine different themes in all!

We use these themes to introduce children to the Four Spiritual Laws: 1) God loves you and has a special plan just for you. 2) Our sin separates us from God and His perfect plan for us. 3) Jesus Christ is our only bridge back to God and His perfect plan.  4) When we come to understand our sin nature and its impact on our relationship with God, we have a decision to make, one way or the other.  With this basic presentation, more than a hundred children have come to Christ in the last two seasons.

It is so important to us that this message is presented without pressure or fear.  We simply use God’s Word to present His Gospel and have faith that the Holy Spirit will have an opportunity to draw children to Christ.  In the process we hope to develop a relationship with the children, much as Christ did with the woman at the well.  He spent time on the relationship, knowing that it would be the foundation for her eventual conversion.  She was so impacted not by what He did for her, and not by what He offered her, but by the fact that He knew her and still wanted to offer her living water.  This impact led her to return to her village and tell all about this man who surely must be God.

Our focus is on each individual child and not on our message.   We have learned that children (and adults) become numb to the message when there is no trust relationship between them and the person delivering the message.  For this reason we ask each member working day camp to accept responsibility for a handful of children to focus on.  During one of our fall break camps a group of tenth graders embraced this approach and thirteen of the seventeen kids in their care made sincere and reliable professions of faith, able to explain their decisions, and ready to tell the world about their Savior.  Several of the tenth graders were blessed with a first opportunity to lead a soul to Christ.

The manner in which we staff the camps is with a core group of our counselors and a combination of your team members working alongside a local church.  This allows a great followup program whether the children make decisions for Christ or not.

If you want to place your team in a position where they will learn how to present the Gospel without pressure, develop a sense of relationship evangelism, and possibly have the first time experience of actually leading another to Christ, we invite you to partner with us for a life-changing week.  Make no mistake, the work is challenging and involves long hours, but the rewards far exceed the effort.

Many of our counselors come from the group of young adults who have visited before as a mission team member.  Remind your team that if they fall in love with camp ministry, we have opportunities for them to serve beyond this mission trip.  We are grateful for the manner in which the Lord provides.
