What if you could reach the whole world for a quarter a week?

Seems impossible, doesn’t it?  After all, how could 25¢ a week reach the whole world?  Well, think about the disciples for a minute.  Each met Jesus and was so changed by that encounter that they spent the rest of their lives spreading the Gospel.  Think about people like D.L. Moody, Charles Spurgeon, Annie Armstrong, and countless others who spent their lives making a difference for the Kingdom.  Someone led them to Christ.

You see, at Camp Tipton it’s not about us or the Camp, it is about those God allows us to reach.  What if just one of the kids who without your quarter might not find their way to Camp Tipton turns out be the next Billy Graham, William Carry, or David Brainerd?  At Camp we are introducing people to Jesus, and HE is making a difference in their lives.  It’s not only children, it is counselors, missionaries, tourists, bikers, ball-players, and folks from a Sunday School class just like yours.

Why just a quarter a week?  We want you to see how far a little money can go; so little we don’t think you’ll even miss it, and so far that we hope you find a deepened sense of God’s faithfulness.  If there are just five people in your class your quarters each week over a year add up to a scholarship for one child for a week of Camp.  Consider how many classes there are in the Association and then imagine the children and families we could reach with such small individual donations.  The other thing we would ask for, more important even than the money, would be for your whole class to join in a weekly prayer for what the Lord is doing through Camp Tipton.  Many people tell us they don’t know about the Camp, or that they don’t know what the Camp does.  Our ministry is threefold; summer day camps, servant evangelism, and home repair.

Our first focus is the day camps as that is the foundation of what we are – Camp Tipton.  We staff the camps with student summer missionaries, visiting mission teams, and volunteers from local churches.  Each week we present the Gospel in such a fashion that young children can understand God’s message of salvation through Jesus Christ.  We invite you to participate as an individual, class, or church in this fulfilling ministry… YES we’d love to involve you.

We also spend a lot of time out on the “street” with these same workers reaching out to the lost in locations like Laurel Falls, on the Dragon, at sporting events, flea markets, shelters, under bridges, and in Baptist Centers in ours and other Associations.  If you are looking for a place to serve, we have one.  We also provide an after-school ministry intended to introduce school children to the ideas of ethics and morality from a Christian point of view.  While we cannot directly present the Gospel in a school environment, we can talk about our faith in response to kid’s questions, and they DO ask.

Finally we work in local neighborhoods like the one near your church helping people who cannot afford to fix that leaky roof, rotten floor, or failing electrical system.  Our group of local volunteers and visiting mission teams would love to work alongside you in your own neighborhood.  We fix the house; you reach the family, or an easy mix of the two.  We want people to notice your neighborhood church.
