Visiting Mission Teams
Connections…
Camp Tipton is about the connection. We all long to be connected. We find fulfillment in our connections with others. When we disconnect in our relationships, we discover an inner emptiness and loss. Peace eludes us until our connections are restored.
As a family, the Camp Tipton staff and volunteers are focused on “the” connection. We find our deepest meaning in our connection with the Father. We experience joy as we connect with others as servants. We understand our purpose as we connect Christ with our neighbors.
Our connections are grown in the relationships we cultivate with our community through day camps, home repair, and servant-evangelism ministries. We hold the conviction that these relationships are complete only when a local church is a part of the connection. We call our local mission strategy “Project 83”, which is all about the connection between Christ, church, community, and camp. As a local mission strategy, Project 83 emphasizes the church/community connection with the goal that each camp-related profession of faith will grow into a lifetime of discipleship under the care of a local church.
Our desire and goal for mission teams is that they will experience God at work within the body of Christ as co-laborers with local churches, Camp Tipton staff and volunteers. As we work together in God’s Kingdom, we will grow in our faith and knowledge through worship and Bible study, utilize our skills and gifts in ministry, and engage in opportunities to express our faith in Christ as we participate in servant-evangelism projects. Our focus is not on tasks, rather on opportunities to connect with the Father and to help others find this same connection.
While our ministry goals will change each year, the values and beliefs they are built upon remain constant. The ministry of Camp Tipton is based on the following values:
- Our Father is seeking a spiritual renewal in His children and a spiritual awakening in the lost.
- Spiritual renewal in God’s children precedes a spiritual awakening in the lost.
- Every believer is a fully equipped missionary.
- The Camp Tipton family serves as a catalyst for renewal and awakening.
- Renewal and awakening best occur in partnership with the local church.
One person described Camp Tipton as “a small camp with a big heart”. We have been given a big assignment; one we are excited about because it means our Father is sending us co-workers in the gospel so that His agenda will be met. Is He calling you, your church, or your family to join us on mission with Jesus? If so, I invite you to contact us via an email to camptipton@gmail.com telling us that you are ready to join us on mission today.
